Our service project from 6 years ago.
This is our tour guide, Eli, our kids did not believe he was 19 years old but he is. He also learned how to speak English by watching other people do tours and translating. He is an amazing young man and it was so fun to see his energy and passion sharing what he loves.
He also loves his machete and was very happy to use it during the tour.
We learned how they used the waste from animals to make fertilizer and fuel.
We also got to test our ranching skills
Mitch was the only one that was successful but he freely admits it was pure luck.
The kids got to eat some rainbow peppers, a lot of them felt the burn for sure. We were pretty much out of water after this stop.
We then used some plants to give each other makeovers.
We had some digger races (Matt was the king) ... But Shoe did beat him....
Processing sugar cane for drinks and snacks
We also go to eat one of our best meals. Most of if not all of the food was grown on the farm.
We got to see their pet also.
